  4. SysMaint is a 32 bit OS/2 Shareware PM Application that includes all
  5. of the functions of IniMaint, plus the following features:

  7. . The Extended Attributes for any File, Directory, Drive or
  8. and combination of Files and Directories can be manipulated in a
  9. number of different ways:
  10.  
  11.   . They can be copied into a file, that is organized much like an
  12.     INI File, and Viewed by the user. In this mode it is possible to
  13.     make any manual changes to the Extended Attributes and then use
  14.     the editied Attributes to update those for the Files and/or
  15.     Directories.
  16.  
  17.   . The Extended Attributes can be Tested for validity.
  18.  
  19.   . They can be Saved to an INI type file. This leaves the Attributes
  20.     of the Source intact.
  21.  
  22.   . They can be Split to an INI type file. This deletes the Attributes
  23.     from the Source.
  24.  
  25.   . The Extended Attributes that have been Saved or Split, can later
  26.     be Joined to the same set of Directories and/or Files or can be
  27.     Joined to a different, but similar set.
  28.  
  29.   . They can be Copied from one set of Files and Directories to
  30.     another set of Files and Directories, thus replacing the Extended
  31.     Attributes of the Target. This function leaves the Attributes of
  32.     the Source intact.

  34.   . They can be Moved from one set of Files and Directories to
  35.     another set of Files and Directories, thus replacing the Extended
  36.     Attributes of the Target. This function deletess the Attributes
  37.     from the Source.

  39.   . The Extended Attributes from two different sets of Directories
  40.     and/or Files can be Compared to each other to identify
  41.     differences. This includes the ability to Compare the current
  42.     Extended Attributes for a set of Directories and/or Files to
  43.     those Saved or Split previously in order to see what changes were
  44.     introduced by a specific set of actions.

  46. . There is a Desktop Menu that includes entries to make a 'simple'
  47.   backup of the Desktop. A 'simple' backup is one that can be used on
  48.   the same machine and the same version of OS/2 to recover from a
  49.   problem with the Desktop. The major features are:

  51.   . The ability to specify the number of generations of Backup to
  52.     maintain and have the generations automatically managed.
  53.  
  54.   . A full Desktop Backup can be done in about a minute.
  55.  
  56.   . If WPS will not run, the Desktop can be restored from a floppy
  57.     boot in less than a minute. This includes the ability to restore
  58.     from any generation of the backup.
  59.  
  60.   . If WPS will run, but the Desktop is corrupted, a restore can be
  61.     done from any backup generation without the need to boot from a 
  62.     floppy.

  64.   . If the Desktop has lost it's ID, the correct ID can be restored
  65.     by simply selecting a menu item that will restore it.

  67. . There is a complete, fully indexed and cross referenced Help.

  69. . The operation of the SysMaint options is fully configurable using
  70.   the large number of Options in the Options Dialog.
